Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss – April 2020

Introducing the coveted new Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss high-shine colours from Bobbi Brown Australia! Now available in 12 shades, the formula is a plumping, hydrating, non-sticky gloss that ranges in tones from nudes to warm bolds. With an ingredients inclusion of avocado oil, jojoba seed oil, arabica coffee seed oil and hyaluronic acid, these are super smooth and ultra hydrating! I’ve been lucky enough to try out a range of the colours and I wanted to share my thorough review and thoughts about the new release.

Swatches & Formula
In the collection, there is a total of 12 high-shine glosses; including the limited edition shades created in collaboration with Yara Shahidi. With a super smooth formula that is hydrating, plumping & non-sticky, this range of glosses can be worn alone or over the top of a lipstick. The shades in my collection are: ‘Hot Streak’ – a bright vibrant red/pink, ‘In The Flow’ – a deep red/burgundy, ‘Slow Jam’ – a deep mauve pink, ‘Spring Bliss’ – mauve medium pink and ‘Forever Chill’ – a mid brown beige. This range of high-shine glosses can take you from nudes to bolds with a colour to suit all skin tones. The ingredients is packed with enriched hydrating oils, including jojoba seed oil, arabica coffee seed oil, avocado seed oil and sodium hyaluronate. They’re all free from parabens, sulphites, phthalates, gluten and animal derived ingredients. I love wearing them on their own and also over the top of my crushed lip colour lipsticks.

Final Thoughts & Review
I love the hydrating, smooth formula and the long length of wear, they last quite a while upon wear. I also love that they’re non-sticky because that can be hard sometimes to find glosses that aren’t and these are definitely not sticky, such a plus! I enjoy the range of colours there is in the collection as well! Would I repurchase? Definitely! I love how the high-shine glosses can be worn both either on top of another lip colour or by themselves as an overall cover. Because they’re slightly translucent, you can build up multiple layers to get a more fuller coverage.

Introducing the brand new recently launched LE collection from Bobbi Brown Australia, the gorgeous Luxe & Fortune range! Featuring the Jeweled Rose Eye Palette with shimmer wash eyeshadow & metallic eyeshadow 1.13g each and eyeshadow in ‘Champagne Quartz’ 2.45g, the Luxe Liquid Lip Rich Metal in ‘Pink Crystal’ 6ml and the Luxe Lip Colour in ‘Rare Ruby’ 3.4g. Such a stunning trio of products! Not just the creamy pigmented formula of the luxe lip colour in Rare Ruby or the gorgeous sparkle from the liquid lip Pink Crystal, but the stunning red & gold package design & glow of the Champagne Quartz is out of this world! The whole collection really fits it’s own theme.


 

This beautiful collection was created and inspired in celebration of Lunar New Year. I think it’s such a lovely nod to it. Onto the products; I feel like the lip colour ‘Rare Ruby’ was made for me. The colour is a stunning burnt red-plum tone and is so gorgeous! I could wear it everyday, the texture is ultra creamy & smooth, the one swipe glide on type. I can’t reiterate it enough, the quality of the Bobbi Brown Australia lip products are really in a whole class of their own!

 

The luxe liquid lip in ‘Pink Crystal‘ is a mid-pink with silver shimmery flecks, it has a slightly sheer finish but can be layered up for further coverage. The texture is a buttery kind & the colour payoff really impresses! Check out the swatches of them below. With the Champagne Quartz shadow, I would describe it as a mid beige-gold and it is just stunning!

My Experience, Review & Final Thoughts
I love this entire limited edition Luxe & Fortune collection. The ‘Rare Ruby’ lip colour is the most perfect red and has a glistening satin finish, it is absolutely beautiful. The eye palette is a gorgeous colour story in way of warm tones and neutrals, the perfect shades for Autumn/Fall and could easily be used to create a smokey eye look with any of the shades. The pigment of the shadows is delightful too, the one-swipe kind and they’re lovely to blend too. I’ve found with the Luxe Liquid Lip Rich Metal in ‘Pink Crystal’, its gorgeous worn over the top of warm toned matte lip colours or even on its own as it it can be built up in cover with extra layers. It’s a beautiful bright mid tone metallic pink. I would 100% repurchase this collection.

My Experience & Review;
I can’t get over how pigmented the sparkly Master Metals Eyeshadows are!! They’re one-swipe intensity and they’re some of the prettiest shimmers I own. I love the dark twist these shades bring into play for the trans-seasonal aspect, these would be suited for any occasion or season yet bring such a character to the end of Summer! I think my favourite shade is ‘Bronze’ as it has an almost gold-like shimmer glow to it in the natural light or sun light, it is a gorgeous colour. These would be perfect to create smokey eye looks or even just to wear on the lid with a neutral toned crease. The Ultramatte Lip Cream formula is extremely light-weight upon wear on the lips and almost dries instantly as most lip creams do. The pigment is pretty intense but I find one layer is a little less opaque due to the edges on the doe-foot during application so I would do two layers to make it completely opaque and for a full coverage. I ADORE the colour of the ‘Strike Out’ lip cream, it is a dark burgundy purple plum, it is truly stunning. You can see it in the swatch photo above at the bottom.

The Nail Polishes come in three gorgeous colours; ‘Thunder’, ‘Sangria’ and ‘Evolve’. I haven’t yet tried these but I will be shortly and will post a upcoming post on my Instagram Coco and Chino’s so stay tuned for that! I’ve been enjoying using the Great Lengths Mascara, it’s pretty volumising and provides a nice natural looking extra length to my lashes. The colour is a lovely intense black which matches my hair colour too. As far as the mascara’s are concerned, I haven’t tried the others as yet but I have enjoyed the great lengths mascara. You definitely get a lovely amount of produce in the tube and I can see myself using this one up before 6 months is up.



Final Thoughts;
I think Ulta3 have nailed this range, the colours are all different and warm-deep tones and the products provide a lovely on-trend look opportunity for anyone who wears them. The options really are endless! I love this dark twist toward the end of the Summer in Australia and the best part of all, is the affordability! You won’t need to break the bank with this range at all! I highly recommend this new release, particularly the Master Metals Eyeshadows and Nail Polishes, they’re stunning! There is so many on-trend looks that can be created using these gorgeous products and better yet, they’re cruelty free and vegan! And, in an effort to help the bushfire affected communities, Ulta3 will be donating 100% of profits from sales for the next two weeks to the FRRR Disaster Resilience & Recovery Fund, which will aid people in recovery that have been directly affected by the devastating bushfires across Australia.

For this extremely covetable collection, designer Ulla Johnson and quality brand Bobbi Brown Cosmetics teamed up to collaborate on the most perfect set of makeup items suitable for ALL season’s! Now you can see what I mean! It is exquisite and features the most complimenting makeup products that I’ve seen in a collection in a while.

Bobbi Brown x Ulla Johnson Collection & Formula’s
From the gorgeous classic red lip colour ‘Loulou’, with orange undertones, the creamy warm pink blush in ‘Pink Flush’ to the natural shadows in the Minou eye palette, there is really something for everyone and that suits most skin tones, too. Let’s start with the stunning star of the show, the crushed lip colour that caught everybody’s eye at first glance; ‘Loulou’ – 3.4g: a warm red with orange undertones, a creamy satin matte finished lip in a classic bullet twist up. The hydrating formula consists of Vitamin E, Vitamin C and beeswax, providing a lightweight balmy feel on the lips yet with crushed pigments to allow a swipe & go application. Onto the perfect Minou Eye Palette; featuring five shades curated by the fashion designer Ulla Johnson herself: three buttery matte shadows ‘Antique Rose’, ‘Shell’ & ‘Hot Stone’, a sparkle glimmer shadow ‘Chiffon’ and a metallic shadow ‘Champagne Quartz’. This palette has the right shades to go as natural as you’d like or as glammed up as you like with a smokey eye & sparkle shimmer lid! A very versatile palette that’s compact enough to travel with. Next up is the Esme Cheek Palette which features the ultra creamy pot rouge blush in ‘Pink Flush’ – a warm toned soft pink with coral undertones, perfect for popping a lovely tint of colour to your lips or cheeks! It also features a cream highlighter in ‘White Opal’ which can illuminate the skin, providing a radiating lit-from-within look. What a gorgeous kit, it is also a perfect size for traveling with and very compact. It also includes the mirror as you can see above.

Onto the extremely lightweight and hydrating Extra Lip Tint – 2.9g in the most natural lip colour complimenting version ’Bare Pink’; this lip tint is so soft, so creamy and is designed to blend in with your own natural lip colour to compliment the tone and is infused with jojoba seed oil, avocado oil and cocoa seed butter. It is the perfect hint of colour and will suit every skin tone. See it below..

As you can see it looks extremely creamy and light. It is! I recommend this lip tint to anybody that suffers dried and cracked lips in the Winter. It is perfect for keeping the skin hydrated but also adds that pop of colour to compliment them!

Last and definitely not least is the other star of the whole show; the Ulla Johnson designed Makeup Pouch – 210 x 140 x 10mm: curated specifically for this limited edition collection! With hues of soft beige and pale blush pink, a white floral design cascades both sides and underneath, creating a highly detailed illustration from Ulla Johnson, inspired by her own urban bohemian taste. Featuring the most gorgeous pale pink tassel to provide itself extra compliment. It’s the most stunning makeup pouch I’ve laid eyes on and better yet, it fits each item from the entire collection perfectly! Take a look below at the incredible detailing..

My Thoughts & Findings
Let’s be completely honest here, what couldn’t you LOVE about this stunning and limited edition collection from the collaborative efforts of New York fashion designer Ulla Johnson and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics?!?! There is nothing, because absolutely everything is perfection! From the versatile Minou eye palette to the crispy warm crushed lip colour in ‘Loulou’; there is so many optional looks to create with this collection, each item is the perfect size to slide right into the makeup pouch and travel with, but most of all it’s well suited to most skin tones and will be amazing for each season, particularly Autumn/Winter. I am extremely impressed with this gorgeous collection! Stay tuned for the next blog post on this stunning set with swatches included!

Introducing the brand new shade ‘Bare Raspberry’ from the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Extra Lip Tint range. A hydrating balm-like lip colour that gently tints the lips, complimenting the natural tones.

The Colour and Formula
The new shade ‘Bare Raspberry’ is one of three new shades and joins the other two: ‘Bare Nude’ and ‘Bare Blackberry’. The extra lip tints is a smooth balm-like oil-infused texture with a formula combined of Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil and Olive Oil. Not only are the lip tints hydrating, but they’re long wearing, very easy to apply and they compliment the lips natural tones. Each lip tint is 2.9g in size. Pricing & Availability

My Review & Thoughts
I have really enjoyed how lovely the formula is to apply on my lips, it goes on so smooth and feels so hydrating to my lips during wear. I love the pleasant mild scent they have & the way they enhance & compliment my lips natural colour. Another great point to make is how long-wear they’re, they last for hours on the lips, I found I didn’t need to touch-up the application until after 4-5hrs of wear. The beautiful combination of Avocado Oil, Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil make them so smooth textured and balm-like, they literally glide onto the lips effortlessly. I’m very impressed with them and the shade range is perfect for all seasons, especially since they adjust to enhance the lips natural colour, they give a lovely natural look with the perfect amount of tint colour.

Would I Re-Stock?
The answer is a definite yes! I think they’re perfect for Summer and Winter due to how actually hydrating they’re. The formula moisturised during wear & the colour tones are the perfect shades for those seasons, providing more plump, soft, hydrated lips while sporting a lovely natural lip colour.
