Jurlique: Moisture Plus Rare Rose Skincare – August 2019

From the natural South Australian grown Jurlique rose scent to the popular hydrating hand creams and balancing facial mists, Jurlique have arguably stamped their presence in the skincare field. A month ago they released their stunning brand new skin range with their new Moisture Plus Rare Rose formula. Featuring a cream (50ml), a serum (30ml), a lotion (50ml) and a gel cream (50ml), something for everyone and useful throughout all seasons. I have been using the range for the past month and have loved the results! If you’d love to know my review and what products have become favourites, read on.

As you can see above, the outer box packaging is stunning white and pink textures with chrome silver font print. And the product themselves are gorgeous frosted glass with medium-dark pink covering and chrome silver writing and title font over the pink. Jurlique is quite known for their luxe packaging, with beautiful rose gold trims, chrome font and frosted glass. Read further on below to learn about the formula and textures..

As you can see above; the textures are very fluffy, lightweight and airy. I think my favourite formula is the cream and the serum.. they both absorb so well into my skin and there is no sticky feeling at all with any of the products. I have always loved how hydrating and buttery the Jurlique skincare line feels, they are really on another level.

Worldwide Pricing and Availability
In Australia, the entire Moisture Plus Rare Rose range is available from $59 – $75 AUD at Jurlique Australia, and also at the following retailers; David Jones, Myer and at Adore Beauty.

In the UK, the entire range is available from £26 – £45 GBP and is located at Jurlique UK, Feel Unique and Anthropologie.

In the USA, you can find the whole range available from $60 – $64 USD at Jurlique USA and Skin Store.

Final Thoughts?
After using these over the last month, I have come to love each product. Particularly the serum and the cream. The serum absorbs into my skin so well, it doesn’t feel tacky or sticky, it smells amazing and it’s comfortable on the skin. I find it hydrating extremely well and the hydration lasts on my face for quite some time.. so much that I don’t feel like I need to use the serum each day. Just twice a week and I am fine. The cream is a airy, light and buttery smooth formula that quite literally sinks into the skin on my face when applied. I think it absorbs well and the moisture it provides is AMAZING! The entire range is ultra hydrating and soothing to my dry skin, they all arrived to my desk at the perfect timing as we’re just coming out of a dry Winter filled with cold air.

That sums up my review on this gorgeous new skincare range from Jurlique. What have you been loving on your skin this Winter?

Meccaland 2019: Sydney, Australia

On May 18th 2019, my best friend Sandra and I met at Redfern Station and headed on our way to the locomotive warehouse where the second annual Meccaland was being held for 2019. From the moment of lining up, we could hear the music playing inside and see all the energy happening around us. A lovely host came and applied sparkle to our faces to give us a huge highlight glow! It was exciting as we got our FUN PASS tickets ready for receiving our wristbands. It wasn’t too long of a wait before we were walking inside. The entrance was filled with bright neon lights that curved over a tunnel.

As you can see, the neon light bars that formed the entrance tunnel were extremely pretty and bright. There was also cheerleaders dancing with pom poms to welcome the festival goers. It was quite evident already, Mecca had gone to a great level of effort for this event and it was HUGE! There were signs everywhere explaining what direction each booth was in, the centre stage and of course, the food!

Meccaland: The 411
Mecca land is a huge beauty festival held by host Mecca Maxima/Mecca Cosmetica, the major retailer of all things beauty in Australia, as you’ll likely know. In this event, Mecca invites multiple skincare and makeup brands to participate. Brands that included Too Faced, By Terry, MAC, Ciate, Clinique, Lanolips, Foreo, YSL, Drunk Elephant, Living Proof, GHD, Origins, Hourglass, NARS, Stila, Tatcha, Go-To Skincare, Bumble, Million Dollar Beauty, Kate Somerville, Lancome, Pathology, Mecca’s own Mecca MAX and many more! By that, it means setting up a booth and showcasing their latest releases and offerings, whilst also sharing knowledge, tips and tricks, advice and performing makeovers or other beauty services to festival goers who’ve booked in. It gives attendees the chance to purchase limited edition product that hasn’t yet officially released in the country. Pretty amazing, right? Wait till you see the setups and booths!

The Booths
There were so many areas to explore, all split into different ‘worlds’. Named ‘Temple Of You’, ‘The Wildflowers’, ‘Poster Park’, ‘City Of Lights’ and ‘The Queendom’. There was a theme to everything and the entire atmosphere morphed everybody there into a whole new world of all things BEAUTY. I tried to take photos of as many booths as I could, they were all decorated perfectly and had such a high energy vibe! Including the gorgeous ‘House of Drunk’ by Drunk Elephant and the ‘Isle Of Paradise’ swings. It was like one big playground for beauty lovers, including a see-saw near the Foreo booth, the slides at the Too Faced booth, the silk swings at MAC, and the globe swing chair at the NARS booth. The brands got very creative and you can see the amount of effort that went into the whole festival..

The Exclusive Products On Offer
There were many different new and limited edition products on offer from many of the brands. Including exclusive releases just for the special beauty festival. Ciate were releasing a whole new Jessica Rabbit collection and it is so beautiful! Hourglass were also releasing a new blush and lipgloss exclusively for Meccaland. Check out the next few photos for a good look at these special releases..

Stila Cosmetics also had a few new releases on show and they were also stunning. They included a new Heaven’s Hue Highlighter and the Lingerie Soufflé Skin Perfecting Color, they both looked incredible and the highlighter swatched so well! Stila is a company that I really love, I particularly like their eyeshadows and liquid lipsticks. Check out their new releases below..

The Meccaland Decor
As mentioned before, Meccaland had multiple worlds, and a theme for each world. The atmosphere was truly amazing, with lots of bright lights and fun playground featured booths and so many photo opportunities for event goers. There was really something for everyone. Attendees could also purchase exclusive new products before official release and each person who attended the event got to pick up a special edition Mecca Beauty Loop box. I’ll share what I received in mine a bit later below in the post. For now, check out some of the special decor and setups the brands had created for their booths, including fragrance & fashion house brand Maison Margiela and makeup brand Laura Mercier..

As you can see, Mecca went above and beyond! How awesome are those life sized lipstick props? So cool! I really loved all the decorations and sparkly lighting, it added such a high energy vibe to the atmosphere. The day we went there was a A LOT of people also attending so at times it was hard to move around the grounds and get from A to B, but in the end we got there and got to tour around the entire area. I have a few more photos of the decor below including the main stage where the makeup demonstrations happened and guests spoke. There was also so much detail into the entrance of the venue with massive long strands of pink tinsel hanging down. There was also the gorgeous Mecca MAX ferris wheel that went around with event goers able to have a ride on it..

From brands such as Hourglass, Bumble, Lanolips, YSL, Kate Somerville and Ciate, there was a completely unique setup at each and every booth! I kind of went a little mad with the photos I was taking but I couldn’t resist snapping them all of as many booth’s as I could for the perfect photo memories from the event. Every single setup was fun and exciting, showcasing the brands’s NEW products and old classic ones as well. To see what the brands mentioned above had decorated their booths, check the following photos out..

There was also makeup stations fully setup with mirrors, ring lights, makeup wipes and cleansers; where event goers could have new products tried and tested on them, or they could even book services of staff makeup applications or simply swatching new products on their skin. There was a designated area with tables and chairs for people to sit down and have a rest or a bite to eat. And brand GHD had a booth set up for people to get their hair styled using the new GHD products. Westpac were also on-hand to provide the very important task of entertainment, see my photos of their display below, as well as the makeup stations.

Overall you can see that it was a huge event and a lot of people attended. My best friend Sandra and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and loved checking out the new releases on offer and what each brand had done for their booth. It was a terrific event and the 6 hour drive to Sydney from Victoria was well worth it! Next year I have a feeling the event will be held in Queensland, which might be a little too far for me to travel to, however I shall see if I can also make that one. It’s such a great beauty festival that Mecca puts on and all the participating brands. Have you ever been to the event before in either Melbourne or Sydney? What were your thoughts about it? I would to know! Until next time, have a great week ahead and I hope you enjoyed my walkthrough post from MECCALAND 2019.

Welcome to the most beautiful LE collection we all may of ever seen! For this extremely covetable collection, designer Ulla Johnson and quality brand Bobbi Brown Cosmetics teamed up to collaborate on the most perfect set of makeup items suitable for ALL season’s! Need to see what I’m on about? Say no more. Take a look..

Now you can see what I mean! It is exquisite and features the most complimenting makeup products that I’ve seen in a collection in a while.

Bobbi Brown x Ulla Johnson Collection & Formula’s
From the gorgeous classic red lip colour ‘Loulou’, with orange undertones, the creamy warm pink blush in ‘Pink Flush’ to the natural shadows in the Minou eye palette, there is really something for everyone and that suits most skin tones, too. Let’s start with the stunning star of the show, the crushed lip colour that caught everybody’s eye at first glance; ‘Loulou’3.4g: a warm red with orange undertones, a creamy satin matte finished lip in a classic bullet twist up. The hydrating formula consists of Vitamin E, Vitamin C and beeswax, providing a lightweight balmy feel on the lips yet with crushed pigments to allow a swipe & go application. See the stunning beauty below..

I will of course follow up in another new blog post with both lip & arm swatches so you can see the colour presented in application.

Onto the perfect Minou Eye Palette; featuring five shades curated by the fashion designer Ulla Johnson herself: three buttery matte shadows ‘Antique Rose’, ‘Shell’ & ‘Hot Stone’, a sparkle glimmer shadow ‘Chiffon’ and a metallic shadow ‘Champagne Quartz’. This palette has the right shades to go as natural as you’d like or as glammed up as you like with a smokey eye & sparkle shimmer lid! A very versatile palette that’s compact enough to travel with. Haven’t seen it yet? See the magic below..

As you can see above, it is absolutely divine. I will post finger swatch photos in a new blog post along with the other swatches.

Next up is the Esme Cheek Palette which features the ultra creamy pot rouge blush in ‘Pink Flush’ – a warm toned soft pink with coral undertones, perfect for popping a lovely tint of colour to your lips or cheeks! It also features a cream highlighter in ‘White Opal’ which can illuminate the skin, providing a radiating lit-from-within look. Lastly, the kit comes with a mini Extra Face Oil that achieves a dewy finish over the makeup. See the full set below..

What a gorgeous kit, it is also a perfect size for traveling with and very compact. It also includes the mirror as you can see above.

Onto the extremely lightweight and hydrating Extra Lip Tint2.9g in the most natural lip colour complimenting version ’Bare Pink’; this lip tint is so soft, so creamy and is designed to blend in with your own natural lip colour to compliment the tone and is infused with jojoba seed oil, avocado oil and cocoa seed butter. It is the perfect hint of colour and will suit every skin tone. See it below..

As you can see it looks extremely creamy and light. It is! I recommend this lip tint to anybody that suffers dried and cracked lips in the Winter. It is perfect for keeping the skin hydrated but also adds that pop of colour to compliment them!

Last and definitely not least is the other star of the whole show; the Ulla Johnson designed Makeup Pouch210 x 140 x 10mm: curated specifically for this limited edition collection! With hues of soft beige and pale blush pink, a white floral design cascades both sides and underneath, creating a highly detailed illustration from Ulla Johnson, inspired by her own urban bohemian taste. Featuring the most gorgeous pale pink tassel to provide itself extra compliment. It’s the most stunning makeup pouch I’ve laid eyes on and better yet, it fits each item from the entire collection perfectly! Take a look below at the incredible detailing..

As you can see, it’s absolutely stunning! I am in love with everything in this collection, Bobbi Brown & Ulla Johnson have nailed it impeccably!

Manicare: Sonic Mini Facial Cleansing Brush & SensiScrub – March 2019

Say hello to the new Sonic facial cleansing brush device from Manicare, the USB chargeable Sonic Mini Facial Cleansing Brush requires only two minutes daily to exfoliate, cleanse & massage the face. Using a circular motion, you dampen the facial skin or the brush head & then work your way from the inner centre of the face outwards to the edges. There is two speeds in the settings that you can choose from. This device has been proven to cleanse to up to 5x better than your own hands or makeup wipes.

The Sonic Mini Brush & Features
In a sphere shape handle that consists of a frosted rubber, it’s extremely easy to grip with your hand. An on/off button is at the back of the handle and features two different speeds with choice of setting, one click brings on the first speed while a second tap of it begins the second speed setting. The other side has an easy interface you can connect and click-in the interchangeable brush heads; this is where you would use either the gentle cleansing brush, the exfoliating rubber bristled head or the massaging rubber nodule head. It comes with a USB charging cord that is easily connected to the USB plug-in port on the inside of the interface. The Sonic Mini Cleansing Brush has a battery life of up to 5hrs! The brush uses vibration cleansing to remove impurities from the skin and leaves skin feeling softer, renewed and plumper. It’s water resistant and can therefore be used in the shower too, the only part that cannot get wet is the charging port which is on the inside of the interface where the heads click onto. The range also comes with three separate packs of 2x SensiScrub silicone exfoliating heads, or 2x soft facial cleansing heads, or 2x massaging nodule heads that can be purchased separately and used to back up the original heads it came with.

My Thoughts & Findings
After my very first use of the gentle cleansing brush and going over my damp wet face with the soft gentle bristled cleanser brush, I found my skin instantly softer and smooth. I felt like my face was more radiant and plumped. I loved how each area of my face only took 10-20 seconds to complete and how compact the sonic mini is. I could easily travel with it & use it as part of my daily skin routine no matter where I am! I also enjoyed having two speeds to choose from for light or more intense cleansing. Regarding the interchangeable heads, I would just recommend thoroughly washing the soft cleansing brushes and rinsing them off after to dispel any residue soap/wash. The exfoliating SensiScrub head & the massaging nodule head awoukd be quite easier to clean after use.

Would I Re-Stock?
This is a definite YES!. The claims are true, this is a very gentle and soft but effective facial cleansing device and all the extra accessory replacement heads are perfect! It’s ideal for traveling with, it just takes as little as two minutes to give your face a great clean & it fits well into anybody’s daily skincare routine. I have trialed it out for a number of weeks now and time and time again it leaves my skin feeling much softer and renewed. I highly recommend it! I love the fact the battery life lasts 5 hrs in one single charge & I LOVE that there is a USB port to recharge it.

My Review & Thoughts
I have really enjoyed how lovely the formula is to apply on my lips, it goes on so smooth and feels so hydrating to my lips during wear. I love the pleasant mild scent they have & the way they enhance & compliment my lips natural colour. Another great point to make is how long-wear they’re, they last for hours on the lips, I found I didn’t need to touch-up the application until after 4-5hrs of wear. The beautiful combination of Avocado Oil, Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil make them so smooth textured and balm-like, they literally glide onto the lips effortlessly. I’m very impressed with them and the shade range is perfect for all seasons, especially since they adjust to enhance the lips natural colour, they give a lovely natural look with the perfect amount of tint colour.

Would I Re-Stock?
The answer is a definite yes! I think they’re perfect for Summer and Winter due to how actually hydrating they’re. The formula moisturised during wear & the colour tones are the perfect shades for those seasons, providing more plump, soft, hydrated lips while sporting a lovely natural lip colour.
